RAW Urban Artists Showcase Reminder - Update Dec 20th

By now you might have gotten an e—mail about the show that I am participating in for the “RAW natural born artists” festival taking place on Dec. 20th. at Cathedral Hall in Jersey City.
I know that folks are busy between now and the holidays, so I will be sending a handful of reminders leading up to the ticket deadline of Dec 12th.

As part of the showcase there will be local artists exhibiting art over a variety of genres and mediums
including visual arts, photography, hair & make-up, fashion, accessory design, DJ and live music and
performance art. Woot! We are expected to have 600 to 800 attendees, including press. You can even do some late holiday shopping for your artistically inclined friends who you didn’t have time to shop for until last minute (it happens).

I am working to sell 20 tickets to help promote the event and cover my cost of exhibiting.
Your support would be greatly appreciated. The tickets are only $22 and need to be sold in advance by Tuesday December 12th in order for me to participate. Also, proceeds for tickets sold after the 20th ticket will go towards hurricane relief in PR for Hurricane Maria.

You can buy tickets by going here:
(click on the buy tickets link on the lower left hand side)

It looks like it’s going to be awesome, and your support would be super awesome!

Thanks super much everyone, looking forward to seeing you!

RAW Artists Showcase Holiday RAWK 2017

The RAW artists network is a group of artists from all different disciplines that hold events to showcase their work all over the US (and possibly internationally?). The types of different artists include all kinda from painters, designers, accessory makers, to performance and makeup artists. Judging from the previous photos and events, it looks to be quite the spectacle. Well,  I am really happy and excited to announce I have just been accepted to participate in the RAW artists’ RAWK Holiday Showcase for 2017.
This feels so different than any other showcase I have participated in before. Unlike other shows, there is an application process that you need to go through in order to be accepted. Then once you are accepted, you have the ability to showcase your work in a professional, yet stylish art space.

You are also given a lot* of logistical guidance on how to prepare for the show logistically, how to promote the show, get the word out, sell tickets to promote yourself and more.
There are weekly phone calls leading up to the show (I have one on Tuesday of this week, followed up a final walk through of the space and a detailed schedule of what needs to happen leading up to the event.)
It really really feels professionally done, and that they give you a lot of help in getting ready for the event. I am really excited about it, and will be writing about the process to get ready for the event in the next few weeks. This will give you an idea of how to prepare for an art show such as this one and I am sure I will learn a lot and will be happy to pass along what I learn.

The artists showcase takes place on December 20, 2017 at
Cathedral Hall
380 Montgomery Street
 Jersey City, NJ 07302
You can check out a link to the event here:

-You can checkout my RAW artists profile here:
(you create one to showcase your work and sell tickets)

Tickets for the event are pre sold (not at the door),
this replaces the need to pay for a table that most spaces charge.

-To get a sense of the event from past showcases you can check out previous photos here:

-Even better is a welcome video where you can see it all in action:

I am super excited about being a part of this and will write more in the weeks to come.

Bringing the Blog Back

After about a 2 year hiatus, I have decided to start writing again.  The decision to stop writing came when I was feeling a little overhelmed from too many competing things to manage (Facebook, vs. Instagram, vs. Artstation etc. etc.) So I gave up on the blog.

Overtime, I realized that there was nowhere for me to track my progress for myself.

Facebook is fine, but this space is an ideal location for me to put work, drawings sketches ideas etc.
I can decide to share them if I want or not, but the idea is that the work and the process is documented for myself and that the effort is consistant.

So I am going to start the blog up again, and the rules are as follows:

-I will post something once a week, writing, sketches, etc. etc.
-I will keep it up for a year (If I can do it for a year, then maybe I can do it for two etc.)
-I will track progress for myself and not for likes etc.

That's it all. Welcome back.
More to come.
