Cloud Herd--Music By: Moebocop
I have decided to start putting my old tracks to my work once they are done. So some of these beats are seeing the light of day for the first time in like 10 years. Good to know that they are being put to use somewhere*. I hope that everyone had an amazing holiday!!!!!!!!

Afro Samurai 1 (Fan Art)
I don't do a lot of fan art. As a matter of fact I don't do any at all. However I recently have been obsessed with Afro Samurai (parts 1 and 2). So I decided to get this out of my system and put this here. I approached these a little differently in the sense that I went back to painting on top of values again (even after I swore that I wouldn't). This is why these look a little different than my normal pieces. I am happy with these even though the color is off. In the long run I think that I can address that by painting on top of the color layers with straight painting and through using adjustment layers.
Anyway, more practice to come. Enjoy!

Painting Tests and Masks
I have been spending a lot of time, just practicing, and doing to the Magic Box courses, which has been really great. For the first time ever I FINALLY understand masks. I could never figure them out before, and never bothered to use them. Now that I understand, it's like a whole new world has opened up.
Below are some pieces that I have done really quickly while trying to understand how masks work.
More to come soon..

Last of the Thumbnails
Last summer I took about 8 months off and just did art non-stop. I am also at the end of the thumbnail lesson in art camp, so I am posting the last of that work here. Then I will move onwards to actually finishing work. Enjoy!

Thumbnail Explosion!!!!
Here are the latest thumbnails that I have pulled from my sketch book over the past month.
Rather than have them waste away in my note pad, I figured I would at least post them here for show.
I want to make paintings from all of them, but at least I can share the thumbnails. I might go back and paint a few of my favorites and post them later on.

Latest Thumbnails!
I am realizing now that blog posts are not just ways to post work, but also ways to make notes to myself when I want to go back and look up how I did something.
These are a series of thumbnails that I have been doing for Noah Bradley's class (i'm in week 6 of 12).
I found that since I am sketching and sketching and sketching, why not just use those as subjects for thumbnails rather than trying to come up with new thumbnail ideas each time, just paint the thumbnails of sketches that I have already completed.
So I basically have scanned a bunch of thumbnails from my notepad, then I do the following:
-bring the sketch into Photoshop (the scan)
-convert the layer to multiply
-block in color blocks "under" the multiply layer
-then paint on top
note: use a multiply layer to deepen shadows...but don't* use an overlay layer because it washes out the color.
That's it! Now I can use this as a reference for later on down the road. (Thumbnails posted below--note that the last two rows are effed up because I converted the layer to grey scale by mistake.):
