I have felt like my work has hit a bit of a wall lately. Because I am a self taught artist, that also means that I have taught myself bad habits as well. This is not to knock my own work, but to also just point out the fact that I need some instruction to break past the wall. I see myself making the same painting choices, and that shows up over and over in my work.
My work is going to look the same and won’t really get better unless I “Unlearn what I have learned".
In order to do that I have decided to take more fundamental courses at the CGMA 2D masters academy. https://2dclassroom.cgmasteracademy.com/ That essentially means that I am going to be busy with classwork and tracking that progress. The class is 8 weeks long and so I am going to be giving full attention to that and not starting any new paintings for a while. I will be posting homework and such to track my own progress, and will be looking forward to tracking my growth over the length of the course! More to come.
